Bank Sohar’s Remote Online Payment System Marks Successful Partnership with MOHE
Bank Sohar commemorated its successful partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the ministry’s efficient implementation of the Bank’s Remote Online Payment System (ROPS) at a high-profile corporate event that was organised recently at Hormuz Grand Hotel. The event was attended by members of Bank Sohar’s top management team and senior officials from MOHE who celebrated the success of the Remote Online Payment System provided by the bank and integrated with the ministry system to enable seamless processing of scholarships for students and other payments by MOHE. The system offers a host of advantages and high-technology banking solutions to large corporate customers within the bank’s drive towards digitisation.

During the event, a speech was delivered by Mustafa Ali Mukhtar, DGM & Acting Head Wholesale Banking, highlighting ways to optimize the Remote Online Payment System, its benefits and application. MOHE officials also shared their experience with the system and showcased the wide range of services implemented to facilitate day-to-day transactions at the ministry. A video on Bank Sohar’s 10 years of excellence was played, followed by distribution of tokens of appreciation to the team working on the system.
Bank Sohar’s ROPS is billed as the smart choice for ministries, government and corporates transitioning towards e-payments based on a variety of credentials, particularly because it facilitates online salary processing, online international and local payment processing, bulk payments, online cheque deposits and cheque return memos and management of Post Dated Cheques in addition to offering a highly secure system and point-to¬-point connectivity through a secure VPN along with auto encryption of data. A variety of other similarly developed security and value-added features such as generating auto payment advice to beneficiary's email, fully automated movement of files from ERP to bank, two-factor authentication, registration of portable devices for signatories, Personalized User Management, Automation of Corporate and Government approval workflow, attaching relevant documents, communication between signatories and users, creation of unlimited future payments, customisable online dashboards and more give the system increased inter-operability.
